The current cost of the living crisis caused in part by the illegal invasion of the sovereign nation
of Ukraine by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has potentially negatively impacted
most, if not all, families across the four countries of the United Kingdom. However, the scale of
the impact hasn’t been universally spread; poorer households have been hit the hardest.
While the current socio-economic situation has impacted Mr Borrow-Longain, it has affected
many people far more harshly. Therefore he’s proud to have donated food to the People Matter
Cullompton Food Bank via the local Tesco store.

It’s heartbreaking that families and especially children, are going hungry in the 21st Century in
this country. High-quality food is critical not only for their health but equally for their education
and career prospects. Studies have highlighted a direct link between the availability of hot and
healthy food and Children’s ability to learn. It is, therefore, imperative that those of us able to
spare a little take the time to help others living in our communities.
