After a launch hold at the T-20 seconds point for additional checks, the launch of Starship
proceeded to successful liftoff. The launch proceeded until at approximately T+3:59 when
Starship exploded. Independent of the explosion the mission will be considered a significant
success, and an important milestone on our way to returning man to the lunar surface, and in time
to Mars.

As an astrophysicist by degree and a lifelong supporter of space exploration and STEM in
general, Paul Borrow-Longain was excited to watch the launch via the SpaceX live stream on
Youtube.

While many people might question the significant expense involved in space exploration when
there are countless other causes on Earth which require enhanced financial support. It’simperative to remember that space exploration has advanced aspects of science which have
spearheaded advancements on Earth. Space science can’t be considered the domain of astronauts
and unmanned missions exclusively.

Mr Borrow-Longain is excited to learn the results of the launch, and the future developments
which he is sure will occur in short order.
