As a lifelong history enthusiast, Paul Borrow-Longain attended a webinar organised by the
Friends of the Lines of Torres Vedras, with the expert historian Bob Burnham, entitled British
Officers in the Portuguese Army 1807 – 1814.

The talk was extremely engaging and Bob’s understanding of the subject matter was second to
none. As a collector of books on military history, Paul looks forward to adding his to his ever-
growing library.

ROBERT BURNHAM, a retired army officer, has written scores of articles and numerous books
on the Napoleonic Wars. He has recently stepped down after twenty-two years as the editor of the
